Vanessa Jackman posted her photo of model Charlotte Free post-Topshop. In sweats. Not in fitted cutoff sweats and heels and a Burberry fresh-off-the-runway jacket. Sweats and a tee. Thank you for being refreshingly normal.

Agh. Due to my exercise schedule (from after school to after dinner – yeah, that’s basically all I do after school, I’m that cool) and my lack of anyone else in the house or even in the houses around mine, I’ve been unable to get satisfactory outfit photos for… ages. Not that I’ve bought anything new in… sheesh, months – ridiculous, right? but I’m broke and unemployed and distinctly not rich, so… yeah – but still. So.

En lieu of such photos, here’s a bunch of random stuff that’s springish.

The Cherry Blossom Girl by JAK&JIL.

Susie Bubble wearing a Louise Grey bustier thing. Love they grey against the electric blue – or the other way around…

An old sign from a hosiery store (Lismore) by the Sart.

Ondine (a stylist) wearing a bright juicy orange blouse (a color I love for spring and summer and even fall) with Celine pants. By Garance.

Vika Gazinskaya by Hanneli. Love the colors (shoes & headscarf) against the pale coat and skin, and…

her lips! POP! Deep raspberry? Love.

c’est tout… ciao (pour maitenent)

…taller, thinner, and blonder, no doubt, but – sunglasses like that? Check. Tiny bun perched atop my head (for sheer simplicity’s sake)? Check. Road bike? Check.

Ha. I wish.
I’m heading to Sal. Army for adventures – I’m “consulting” for my friends’ spanish video – an ANTM spoof – and hey! they need shoes, clothes, a fashionista, and a photog. Bonjour!

I went to Ann Arbor to visit my brother and do some other stuff at the end of March and never got around to posting any pictures… didn’t take that many, but still…

Sarongs outside Orchid Lane

Sweet car.

Not sure what this was about…

Jacket – F21, jeans – JCP, boots – Steve Madden (DSW), scarf – Orchid Lane, sunglasses – vint, rings – vint.

Wow. This is kind of a dumb post…. *shrug* It’s raining and I’m tired. Count of Monte Cristo time! night

Got back from a short trip to PA at midnight – ran there once. They hills. We don’t. My hips are killing me.

I’ll put the sandwich – corned beef from Pittsburgh’s [locally] famous Primanti Bros. – first:

Horrible picture, I know, I know, but… look at it! An inch of sizzling corned beef with coleslaw, tomatoes, and fries on the sandwich. Delicious.

Followed by an iconic Smiley Face cookie (from PA’s Eat n’ Park):

But I digress. I was going to do an outfit thing today – for the first time in ever – but it’s disgusting outside and I need to get some exercise and other things (scholarship stuff, some senior pictures, cleaning, and other such fun things) done, so I’ll suffice with other people’s fabulousness for now.

Karla

Karla again. I need to find The Perfect Cream Silk Blouse – loose, sharp v-necked (deep), loose, nice buttons, and did I mention loose?

And a bit of springtime (for it’s finally arrived!) jesting on the esteemed Mr. Lagerfeld’s part:

Coco Rocha for Coco Cola Light, styled and photographed and designed (the bottle) by Karl Lagerfeld. I need to find one of these, but somehow I doubt they’ll find their way to our little town… unless it is just a joke? Hmnmm…

And a Springtime Picture for you all: a chinchilla!

Ah. Great. It’s started to drizzle.

I’ve been on a Poison binge lately – the band, that is; you wouldn’t get very far on a poison binge unless either (a) you have a mega immune system, (b) you binge in very very small amounts, or (c) you die. At any rate, I’m feeling very 80s-glam-hair-metal-bands (and 90s, but not really grunge), and that means big hair, leather, bright colors… GNR, Poison, Aerosmith, Def Lep, etc. The works. Now, most people – average people – find it difficult to pull off leather pants. Leather skirt, possibly. (Though I highly doubt my parents would approve… a laughable thought if I ever had one). Band tees, though, can work. Done right. Big hair? To an extent. Big jackets, heels, bodycon… all of this is acceptable. (Relatively speaking, of course).

Garance Dore – Giambattista Valli suit. Gorgeous.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Marc Jacobs FW09 – Kasia Struss.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Hannelore Knuts.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Maryna Linchuk. And velvet – love me some velvet (for fall, and maybe some lighter shades for spring, before it gets too warm).

Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Louis Vuitton FW2009 – Tanya Dziahileva.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Hannah Rundlof.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear
Louis Vuitton SS2009 – Suvi Koponen. 80s hair.

I’d post more, but I have to sleep… chem test tomorrow… ugh. Why do teachers insist on cramming in as many tests and quizzes and labs just before break – “SB-oh-10,” as it’s lovingly called by my (kind of dumb, but funny) classmates – when we’re all obviously at our least focused. *Sigh* Such is the life of an unemployed high schooler. Night, world.

On my cousin’s photography blog (check it out, she’s so awesome), I found this picture of someone’s boot from a music festival – Chanel look-alike, anyone?

Chanel Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear

Chanel Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear
Chanel FW2010 – Chanel’s shaggy boot. Reminds me of a yak. I actually could see myself wearing these in the winter up here… maybe…?

Nordica.

Not sure where you’d buy this boot – I spent a couple minutes on Nordica’s site and couldn’t find it – but I’m sure if you looked around hard enough you could track some down. If one were so inclined.

As I’m still out of commission and filled with busy things to do (that didn’t make sense), here are a few images and a link to tide you over…

Palermo

Palermo – a gorgeously decaying city on Sicily’s gorgeous coast. Full of inspiration for me lately (partially due to my avid reading of The Godfather and other Puzo-penned works).

…and a link (with some background):

You all have probably heard of Bill Cunningham, Times street photographer extraordinaire. And if you’ve attempted to delve into his personal life at all, you’ve probably found that you can’t. Yes, as is typical with many photogs, Mr. Cunningham infinitely prefers to be behind than lens rather than to be in front of it. Over the course of his Long and Glorious Career, he has established himself as a hermit in New York City. (Relatively speaking). But now, thanks to an entrepaneuring new film maker Mr. Richard Press. It all started – well, read the article.

While I’m still wallowing in a massive post-bronchitis (or maybe I still have it?? who knows) head cold, rather than post pictures of my own fantastic style these days (hark! sweats, hoodies, fuzzy socks, tissues, and hot cider with honey!), I’ll share some of slightly better taste. Photos from Vanessa Jackman.

Righto. Off to sludge myself through another weary, dreary day of knowledge-infested school. Spring had better be here to stay, or I’m taking off.
