While I must admit I didn’t watch the Oscars/Academy Awards per se – and don’t know who won (except Slumdog Millionaire, snatching 8 Oscars; I know this from listening to NPR every morning on the way to school) – I’ve done my duty and checked out all the looks. A few were right on, a few fell a little flat, and a few should’ve been burned. Here we go!

Penélope Cruz, in vintage Balmain Couture. Definitely a highlight of the evening.

Meryl Streep, in custom Alberta Ferretti. This dress doesn’t do much for her colourwise or shape-wise.

Freida Pinto, in John Galliano. A hit!

Marisa Tomei, in Atelier Versace. One of many looks of the evening to hail back to the golden age of Hollywood, filled with classic style and glamour.

Viola Davis, in Reem Acra. Blech, sorry: this one looks too tacky Prom-y for me (despite the fact that it is Reem Acra).

Anne Hathaway, in Armani PrivĂ©. Agh, she’s such a Grecian goddess type. (Read between the lines: LOVE THIS LOOK)

Marion Cotillard, in Christian Dior Haute Couture. One of several celebs to sport Haute Couture; again, hailing back to the Golden Age.

Halle Berry, in Marchesa. Gorgeous colour & love the fishtail.

Miley Cyrus, in Zuhair Murad. Agh (not in a good way). Beside the fact that I don’t like her, the dress is good – from the shoulders to the belt. Not a fan of the scale-looking skirt.

Heidi Klum, in RM by Roland Mouret. Of course Heidi pulls off the bright red 80’s-esque sexy gown with that outrageously gorgeous neckline.

Evan Rachel Wood, in Elie Saab Haute Couture. Love the floatiness and the beigey-nude colour.

Sarah Jessica Parker, in Christian Dior Haute Couture. Stunning (although I’d go without the belt on the gown. But whatever).

Jessica Biel, in Prada.

Taraji P. Henson, in Roberto Cavalli. Not the best view of this dress but it’s one of my favourites from the evening.

Alrighty, there you have it. Ciao!
