Haider Ackermann: Great show, definitely in my top few contenders. Here are my two favorite looks from the show, but definitely check the show out. I loved the richness of the fabric in both color and texture, the shine, the collars and deep Vs, the over-ruched wide gloves, and the contrast the belts brought (big, black, and urban – harsh against the softer feel of the rest of the outfit). (Video on Style.com)

They’re similar, but I love the folds and the colors… just sublime.

Just a quick one here of YSL. Fashion blasphemy though it may be, YSL is sometimes hit-or-miss, piece-by-piece for me. This was one of those shows, although they did have a few pieces which I really liked.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Kasia Struss. I love, love, love this silhouette. I’ve designed many looks with it myself – the long, narrow, deep-V coat and a kicky short skirt sticking out. So nice.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Sigrid Agren. Same idea, though this one strikes me as a little more severe. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Karmen Pedaru. It doesn’t look it in the photo, but watch the clip and you’ll see, this suit has nice motion to it, which I love.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Ella Kandyba. Some – most – of YSL’s white pieces towards the end were rather disappointing to me. I thought they felt too early 1900s-nightgown-y and grandmotherly. This one does a nice job of keeping its freshness despite the puffy sleeves.

And, of course, I have to include Freja Beha Erichsen in the giant polar bear-esque coat. Though coat seems to be an understatement with this beast.  🙂

Collette Dinnigan. I liked it overall, although a few of the pieces were a little severe or awkwardly cut (I thought).

Alicia Kuczman

Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
AJ Strutman. I like the cut of the neck and the silhouette of this look, but not really the tier effect on the skirt.

Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Emilia Nawarecka. This look I primarily like because of the silhouette, very late 1800s or Victorian (with a slimmer skirt, of course!).

Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Kelli Lumi. Interesting.

Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
AJ Strutman. I like the fur, but I”m not a huge fan of the silvery stripes over grey. Basic grey, I think, would’ve complemented a rich texture (fur) very well.

I’d have liked to see a little more color, even if only a little nude or pale pink here or there, interspersed with the black lace… it was a lot of black. There were a few pieces of blue and with oversized polka dots, but none of those really caught my eye, so I didn’t include them in my little round-up. Weird coincidence that the looks I liked were worn by a couple of the same models.  😛

Lanvin. I quite liked it; one of my favorite shows so far.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Liu Wen

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Milou van Groesen. I didn’t post this one so much for the dress, which I think would look better without the belt, but because Milou looks so awesome here. I hope to see her go places.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Melissa Tammerjin. Not a fan of the hip handles on the skirt, but I like the blouse.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Jacquelyn Jablonski. Love the cut of this one, and even the color – which could come dangerously close to being a gross mustardy-mold color, is nice.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Codie Young.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Frida Gustavsson.

Lanvin Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear
Alla Kostromichova. I love how the top of the neck is rounded, as are the shoulders.

As always, check out the rest.

Honestly, I haven’t had time to keep up with any of the fashion weeks… very sad. I can’t help but feel obligated to share this Louis Vuitton shoe with you, though:

Collette Dinnigan: as always, ladylike and romantic – mostly black this season, with lace. Darkly feminine, perhaps?

Fall’s in full swing now: the leaves are rapidly changing, the temperatures range from 28 to 65 in a mere 12 hours, the sunset is earlier, our football team has lost all of its games thus far (as is expected), and homecoming has come and gone. (Whatever happened to me making my dress, you may ask? Simply put, I procrastinated until about 11 am the day of… True, I had the template/prototype dress cut out, but 5 hours just isn’t enough to make a dress… at least, for me, as the most complex thing I’ve sewn yet is a pillowcase. I’m fairly sure I can do it, I just need time. So my homecoming dress is now a winterfest dress to-be. I wore a stunning – if I say so myself, which I do – black floor-length number, which I love).

And whatever happened to the fashion weeks? Fashion month? It’s flown by and I seem to have missed it. That makes me sad. Not only because my blog readership has dropped majorly, but because now I feel totally, utterly out of the loop. Sigh. And I don’t have time to catch up on every collection, which I would ideally be able to do at my ease and pleasure. Mais ce n’est pas etre… c’est la vie, non?

No, my life has been taken over by school, cross country, my NHS application, band, and maintaining some semblance of (a) a social life and (b) sanity. Therefore, BWchic and pretty much anything fashion-related (my favourite street style spots, the shows, the news, the gossip) have flown out the window. Fall would be perfect if it weren’t for that annoying factor, school.

Face Hunter. Red hair + ridiculous, huge scarf = perfect for fall. I so wish I could go red.

Vanessa Jackman – Leigh Lezark. I love her hair and face!

Karla. I love tutu + (semi)athletic sweater + heels… one of my fall looks too, actually.  😛

Here’s some Fendi that I liked:

Fendi Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear
Frida Gustavsson – she’s taken the shows by storm this season (alliteration much?)

Fendi // SS2010

And the song that’s been on replay pretty much all day: Michael Franti // Say Hey (I Love You)

Ciao!
