American Lit, my nemesis… I swear, that class is going to single-handedly murder my GPA. The exam is going to be so impossible, I might just have to walk in and set it on fire rather than actually take it. That’d probably get me a better grade.
It has driven me to the point where I am happy – joyous – exuberant – to get an A– on a test. Really. Oh well.
Another really gorgeous day – ran, laid in the grass (what is the proper use of past tense/lay? That’s one I have yet to figure out for sure…). Still thinking about spring/summer basics to create a perfectly simple & chic wardrobe (also important: must be easy to pack for trips!)
We’re, ahem, learning about the late 60s and early 70s… aka, watching loads of video about the culture (and music! My favourite!) of the time, which is super fun, especially for first hour – a gentle start to the day – so I’ve been thinking about that time as well. Not just fashion and music, though; people (particularly the younger generation) were so much more unwilling to sit back and be inactive or take no notice of national or world events. The whole hippie movement – even if it was really only strong for a year or so – was an amazing revolution (if controversial) that we should do well to take after today.
Doesn’t make sense, but there it is.
I bet this text will be misaligned when I post this.
Next photo is from The Stylish Wanderer (who just turned !!!!14!!!! and can now take that pesky bar out from her eyes. I had no idea she was only 14… makes me feel so lame for her style being billions of times better than mine… still, it’s amazing!)
Isabel Lucas in Chloe S/S ’09 in Vanity Fair…
Love that suit.
