So I ran yesterday and pretty much PRd by 3 minutes – unofficially – for a 5k. True, my hip hurts a bit again, but at least I’m not totally dead after a month-long break from running…
DJed a luau-themed middle school dance tonight. Super fun, right? (It’s a Christian school, though, so no coconut bras. Oh darn). It was, actually… my friend A and I went totally crazy and had our own little 2-person club in the corner, spinning around until we felt like we were drunk/high/or both. (Trying to walk the line is FUN, unless you’re at risk of prison time). Add that to dancing wildly (and scaring off all 30-odd middle schoolers who actually showed up) and what do you get? A bona fide A & B night out, haha 😀
Now I’m thinking about clubwear.
Schaperelli shoe hat!

I’m feeling very trench-coaty today, what with the humidity and fog and all. Wishing my parents would let me drive all the way to the only good mall, which is 45 minutes away on a highway. F21 and H&M are calling… I need some thin longsleeve tees and comfy, loose, thin sweaters for those awkward days when it’s not cold enough for jeans, but the air is clammy and damp and chilly. What you need for those days is some sort of comfy bottom – cutoffs, harem pants, stylish sweats (an oxymoron? I thought so too, but they do exist. And not Juicy Couture – shudder) – and something that covers you on top (read: sleeves) but isn’t heavy (or tight!) enough to make it uncomfortable. My picks:
$17.80, F21. I’m still kicking myself for not buying this a few months back – it was soo comfy. Perfect.
$12.80, F21. Again, simple, loose, and light – but protects your skin from direct exposure (also great for days when you want to avoid sunburn!)
$7.90, F21. Knit short. Maybe it’s just me, but I think there’s something simply cute & sexy about a loose, oversize top with the sleeves scrunched up and a pair of short shorts. Comfy and cute, can’t beat it.
$32, UO. My fetish for spring is definitely tees – semi-transparent, light, and subtly sexy. I used to be really adverse to pockets (they reminded me too much of my grandpa) but now I’m fairly sure I love them. (Only on loose tees, though – a tiny pocket stretched tightly across your boobs just looks tacky to me).
Just be sure to balance it out – you don’t want to be a walking drape or bound by semi-sheer jersey.
Oh good, the clouds are clearing. Maybe I’ll venture outside… I’ll need to change, though. Brrr.
Happy Spring 🙂
