This Coco Avant Chanel poster has been banned in Paris…
…because she’s seen holding a cigarette.
For Pete’s sake, smoking is a central element in French culture. It is French culture. I can see how having that image on a bus might project the wrong image or give the wrong message – slightly, and possibly in a parallel dimension – but when even the French health minister thinks it’s ridiculous, it’s ridiculous.
NOTE: Not that I approve of smoking. Although if you look at it, I’m in no position to “approve of” anything. It’s their choice. I think it’s stupid, but that’s just me.
ALSO NOTE: Another key element of France, it seems, is langoriously sipping red wine on a counch in silks. Although that’s probably a stereotype. The point is, I approve of that. I cannot wait until I’m 21. 😉
