All over the world, millions of people of different races, religions, cultures, creeds, and colors watched as the first non-WASP President of the United States was sworn into office.
I was a little surprised at the opening and closing prayers – seperating church & state? – but nonetheless, I am completely satisfied with the day’s events. Tens of thousands of people poured into the Mall to witness this historic event.
I was unable to attend the event – ha, I wish! – and so I watched the proceedings from the relative safety of my history and biology classes.
Did anyone else notice Obama wore a red tie?
Sorry, can’t put much/any time into digging around for pictures… I’ll be sure to write more about this ASAP. For now, frantically studying for my health & essay&analysis exams tomorrow…
