Spurred by their freedoms during World War I, women began to change their place in society. Flappers took it to the extreme, changing their fashions, hair, makeup, speech, [...]

Hi all – sorry I haven’t posted in days.
This spring, all you need are a few basics to spruce up your dusty old pieces… that crazy printed skirt you haven’t had a clue how to wear it? Tights, a baggy tank, killer heels and a blazer. That oversize grandpa sweater? Perfection with leggings and vintage [...]

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’d never heard of Garance Dore until today (forgive me for being clueless). I found her blog through another blog, which I found via another blog… you know how it is. Anyway, she’s a French photographer/fashion guru/etc… Nice photos & good read (in French or English).

…gorgeous, elegant, and more-than-slightly Victorian/old England, McQueen’s Pre-Fall ‘09 collection uses rich colours, luxurious material (of course), and intricate details to make one of my favorite Pre-Fall lines, ever. But the collection is still beautiful.
Love this colour [...]

The big news yesterday evening was that Agyness Deyn was refusing to do any interviews before or after her first show at Sao Paulo Fashion Week.
She did [...]

Twiggy

Came across this photo of Twiggy whilst researching the 60s for Spirit week next week…. my class is 60s. Woo!
Twiggy!
Not Twiggy, but a cool 60s dress. I might need to just find some sweet fabric and take the plunge and make one… the real trouble will be finding the right shoes.

Haha I don’t know why I’ve been using cheesy titles… but whatever.
To the point: big belts around your waist – that’s high waisted, mind you – are a Thing now. Marc Jacobs & Fendi are the two most noted designers to sport the huge cinched waist look, but a myriad of others have sprung up [...]

Since I’m in Michigan and it’s usually about -5 in winter (not counting the windchill), I like to see what people around the world are wearing to cope with their sub-zero temperatures… usually it has black and fur in some form or another…
Love her boots and – hey! – trench. Plaid is always a good [...]

Yes, this is about politics/the world/news. (I can do a post on suits, if you wish…)
Just a few quick things before I take off…
